To ensure a smooth race experience, arrive at least one hour before your start time. Check in, drop your bag, warm up in the warm-up zone, and be present in the start zone 10 minutes before the start — locked in and ready to race.

Meeting point

Taking part as BUDDIES or with multiple GYMRACERS? Arrange to meet at Entrance C of the RAI. This is the official event entrance and is clearly signposted from the parking areas.

What to wear?

Wear a standard gym outfit:

  • Shorts
  • Short sleeves or sleeveless top

Choose running shoes that are comfortable and provide sufficient stability. Avoid shoes with excessive cushioning, as these are less stable for movements such as wall balls.

Bag Drop & Changing Facilities

We recommend arriving already changed and bringing a small sports bag. You can leave your bag in the supervised bag drop located upstairs in Hall 11. Bring only essential valuables and share a bag where possible to reduce congestion.

Changing rooms are available. There are no showers in the venue.

The GYMRACE Course

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with the floor plan. The run takes place indoors and the route is clearly marked throughout the venue. Make sure you complete the workout zones in the correct order (Zones 1 to 5). Each zone is clearly identified by a numbered inflatable arch.

Run format: Each run consists of 2 × 500 metres. During every run, you will pass the start area twice before heading to your assigned workout zone.

Exception: during your final run, you will pass the start area once, then continue directly to Zone 5, where you will complete your final workout and finish the race.

The full breakdown

The START serves as a fixed and clearly recognisable reference point on the course.

You begin with 2 running laps (2 × 500 m = 1 km). During this run, you pass the START twice. You then continue into the workout zone. This sequence is repeated up to and including zone 4.

The entrance to workout zones 1 to 4 is clearly marked with the ZONES sign.

Important: After zone 4, you begin your final run. Once again, you complete 2 laps, but this time you pass the START only once. Once you’ve crossed the START, you run straight through to ZONE 5.

Here, you finish with the burpee broad jumps, followed by a full-gas sprint to the finish.

That’s it. Race done. Everything given.

Rules & Judges

Please take the time to carefully review the rulebook and watch the explainer videos on YouTube. Being familiar with the rules allows you to race with confidence and give it everything on the track.

Judges are present throughout the event to guide, support, and correct where needed. For selected exercises, AI counters are used to assist the judges.

In the standard categories, judges coach athletes where necessary, making the race accessible even if your technique isn’t perfect (yet). Fair play is the foundation — cheating has no place at GYMRACE.

The HEAVY categories are pure competition: heavy weights, strict standards, and tight judging.

Results & Prize Ceremonies

If you show up and make it to the start line, you’ve already achieved something. Your finish time and split times will be displayed immediately at the finish scoreboard and published afterwards on the Your Results page.

Prizes are awarded in the HEAVY (competition) categories.
